The function of SLOPE works to draw the slope line that actually fits the data using the least square technique.
There are simple steps to find the slope in Microsoft Excel by using the “SLOPE” function:
- Firstly, enter your data as the Y and X options in two different columns.
- Click on a blank cell in Excel where you need to show the value of the slope.
- Then, type the formula as “=SLOPE(Known_y’s, Known_X’s)”, interchanging “y” and “x” data with respective cell ranges, as shown in the example image, where the y-data range from C4 to C9, while x-data range from D4 to D9.
- Press Enter to check the results.
